Are Patrick Clancy and Rachel Danis Planning a Baby? New Wife Reveals Family Plans on '60 Minutes'

Patrick Clancy and his new wife, Dr Rachel Danis, have confirmed they are starting a family, three years after the deaths of his children Cora, Dawson and Callan.

The couple revealed their plans during a 60 Minutes interview aired on Sunday, 20 September, as Clancy spoke publicly about rebuilding his life following his former wife, Lindsay Clancy's, recent murder-trial mistrial. However, the couple did not announce that Danis is pregnant or disclose when or how they plan to have a child.

The confirmation came near the end of Patrick's interview with CBS correspondent Ross Douthat, after Danis joined the conversation to discuss their marriage and Patrick's continuing grief.

'And you guys are starting a family,' Douthat said.

'Yeah,' Danis replied.

Patrick then explained how his three children would remain part of any family he builds with Danis.

'I think every parent can agree, you have different relationships with your kids, but they're all your kids,' he said. 'And I can't wait to tell them about their brothers and sister.'

The exchange confirms that Patrick and Danis intend to expand their family. It does not, however, confirm speculation that Danis is already pregnant. No pregnancy, fertility treatment or timeline was disclosed during the programme.

Who Is Patrick Clancy's Wife Rachel Danis?

Danis, 37, is a fertility doctor specialising in reproductive medicine. She told 60 Minutes that she met Patrick through a New York running club in January 2024.

Their first conversations also brought Patrick's children into the relationship immediately. While getting coffee, Danis noticed a photograph of children on his phone and asked who they were. Patrick told her they were his children and that they had died.

Their relationship developed as they continued running together, and they married in New York in April 2026. Patrick told Douthat his life had changed 'in such a positive way' since meeting her.

Danis said she understood that supporting Patrick also meant keeping Cora, Dawson and Callan present in their lives.

'I know I can't bring his kids back,' she said, explaining that she hoped to allow Patrick to grieve while continuing to honour them.

Patrick Clancy Speaks After Lindsay Clancy Mistrial

The interview followed the mistrial of Lindsay Clancy, Patrick's former wife, whose case ended with a hung jury earlier in September.

Cora, Dawson and Callan died after being strangled at the family's Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. Lindsay's lawyers argued at trial that she could not be held criminally responsible because of severe mental illness.

Patrick has since moved to New York and keeps photographs, toys and other belongings from his children in his Manhattan home. He told 60 Minutes that he still dreams about them 'all the time.'

His comments about starting another family therefore came with a clear distinction: future children will not replace Cora, Dawson and Callan. Instead, Patrick said he intends to raise them, knowing about the siblings they never had the chance to meet.

Speaking about that future, Patrick said, 'I think every parent can agree, you have different relationships with your kids, but they're all your kids.' He added, 'I can't wait to tell them about their brothers and sister.'
