Looks like Ranbir Kapoor is all set to join the Indian superhero brigade with his next film by Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani director Ayan Mukerji.

Although rumours of Kapoor playing a superhero in Mukerji's next surfaced last year, nothing was really confirmed by the actor or director. However, as per a latest Bollywood Hungama report, Kapoor has revealed that he will indeed star in this fantasy film, which will have a mythological backdrop.

"In this film, he will play a boy, who will have some form of superpowers. However, it will be different from other superhero films," the report says.

The actor added that Bollywood tends to relate the term 'superhero' with Hollywood characters like Spiderman or Superman, but Mukerji's film might change that.

Kapoor said the film is an ambitious project, which is set on a much bigger scale than any of the director's previous films. The script for the film is currently being developed and Mukerji is also keeping a close tab on the budget as he does not want it to go overboard.

Kapoor is currently busy with multiple films, including Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet, Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha and also the rumoured Kishore Kumar biopic.

The actor will focus on his superhero movie once he wraps up filming for all his current films.
