Rita Ora Lawsuit: Former Manager Sarah Stennett Sues British Singer for Over Three Million Pounds

British singer Rita Ora is reportedly facing a High Court claim from FAE Ventures Limited, the company linked to her former manager Sarah Stennett, over at least £3.2 million in allegedly unpaid commission connected with touring and television work.

The Sun reported on 29 September that FAE Ventures had lodged papers alleging that Ora breached contractual obligations by failing to pay commission the company says was due on parts of her earnings.

The court has not determined the allegations, and the report said Ora had not filed a defence at the time of publication. Stennett signed Ora in 2009 and managed her for years before their professional relationship ended. Companies House records list Stennett as a director and the person with significant control of FAE Ventures Limited.

According to The Sun, the largest element of the claim concerns just over £1.7 million that FAE Ventures alleges was deducted from sums used to calculate commission.

It reported that court papers described the disputed amounts as 'impermissible deductions' connected with professional services, including advertising, accountancy and insurance.

FAE Ventures alleges those deductions reduced the amount on which commission was payable under its agreement with Ora.

The full court filing has not been made available to IBTimes UK, so the precise contractual wording, calculations and supporting documents cannot be independently assessed from the material reviewed.

The reported claim also includes more than £1.1 million connected with touring income. The Sun said FAE Ventures alleges that commission payments between spring 2019 and 2020 did not take account of certain income received by Ora, or on her behalf, during her Phoenix World Tour.

The court documents say commission payments 'failed to take account of certain touring income which the defendant had received,' including income that may have been received on Ora's behalf.

Those assertions remain allegations by the claimant. The Sun also reported that FAE Ventures had sought access to Ora's financial records over the disputed payments and that specialist music accountants Y Royalties reviewed statements covering July 2018 to June 2024. According to the report, FAE Ventures alleges it did not receive all the documents it requested.

The dispute also concerns commission linked to Ora's work on series five of ITV's The Masked Singer. According to The Sun, FAE Ventures alleges that commission relating to the programme was calculated using invoices that did not accurately reflect sums to which Ora was contractually entitled.

The report says the company claims the difference left it almost £25,000 short. That allegation, like the claims concerning touring income and professional-service deductions, has not been determined by the court.

The Sun quoted a source saying Stennett and her firm wanted what they believed was owed and adding, 'It's sad it has had to come to this.' The comment reflects the claimant side's position and does not establish liability.

At the time The Sun published its report, Ora had not filed a defence to the claim, and the newspaper said it had contacted her representatives for comment.
