Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski has declared himself ready to return to action when the Bundesliga giants visit Real Madrid on Tuesday night (18 April). Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti also remains hopeful of having both Mats Hummels andJérôme Boateng available for the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, despite the two centre-backs not training with their rest of their teammates on Sunday.

Lewandowski has scored 38 goals in 40 appearances for Bayern this season, but has not played since suffering an injury to his shoulder during the 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on 8 April.

The Poland international consequently missed the last week's 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid and also the Saturday's goalless draw with Bayer Leverkusen. However, he was back in training on Sunday and expects to be ready to lead Ancelotti's attack at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"I'm fine. I'm very pleased I was able to take part in training today. Everything's OK," Lewandowski told FC Bayern.tv in an interview following the training session.

Hummels and Boateng were also unavailable during the weekend's draw against Bayer Leverkusen due to their respective problems in the ankle and the thigh.

Ancelotti was thus forced to use left-back David Alaba in the heart of the defence alongside Javi Martinez but, speaking after the game, the boss was quite positive of having the German duo as well as Lewandowski ready to face Real Madrid.

"We hope all three players will be available," the Italian boss said on Saturday.

The two German internationals will surely lead Ancelotti's back-line against Real Madrid if they pass fit as Martinez is suspended. However, their participation in the game still looks uncertain as the club have informed that the two defenders could not complete the training session with the rest of their teammates on Sunday.

"A total of nine players, including three youth players, worked out on the training ground. Mats Hummels (ankle injury) and Jérôme Boateng (thigh problem) had performed individual running drills beforehand," the club confirmed in its official website. "The rest of the squad performed regeneration exercises in the performance centre one day after the Bundesliga match against Leverkusen and two days before the Champions League encounter with Real Madrid."
