The Samsung Galaxy Note has the best smartphone display ever made, according to a new analysis by DisplayMate, who are known for their in-depth opinions of smartphone and tablet displays.

Samsung sent DisplayMate a pre-production model of the Galaxy Note 4 (it won't be up for grabs until October 2014) to test out. After spending some time with the Quad HD 2560x1440 pixel display, here's what they had to say.

"It provides lots of image detail – it can display four complete HD 1280x720 images at once. The display has Diamond Pixels and Sub-Pixel Rendering with 518 pixels per inch (ppi), providing significantly higher image sharpness than can be resolved with normal 20/20 vision at the typical viewing distances of 10 inches or more for Smartphones, so the display appears perfectly sharp."

If you aren't interested in the plethora of technical details that the report offers regarding the actual tests, then you should know that they said that the Galaxy Note 4, "matches or breaks new records in Smartphone display performance."

A key element for a great smartphone has always been a truly innovative and top performing display, and it looks like the team at Samsung can check that box on their list. Apart from a gorgeous display, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 also offers top-notch performance via a Snapdragon 805 chipset and 3GB of RAM.
