Why Is Susan Dell Being Compared to a 'Reptilian'? White House Appearance Sparks Viral Debate
Dell attended a White House event to promote a $6.25 billion children's investment initiative

Susan Dell's appearance beside President Donald Trump at the White House has sparked a viral debate. Some social media users compared the billionaire philanthropist to a 'reptilian' while others condemn the personal attacks and highlight her philanthropic role in children's welfare.
Dell, wife of Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell, attended the Oval Office event on 7 October to discuss the couple's $6.25 billion (£4.72 billion) pledge towards children's investment accounts. Clips of her speaking soon circulated online, drawing attention to her facial expressions and appearance.
Why Susan Dell Is Being Called a 'Reptilian' Online
The comparisons began spreading after viewers shared close-up footage and photographs from the White House appearance. Some commented on Dell's eyes, facial expressions and movements, while others compared recent images with older photographs.
Several posts used words such as 'alien', 'demon' and 'reptilian'. On Reddit, one commenter wrote that 'reptilian' came close to describing their reaction, while another joked about 'lizard correspondents' living beneath the White House.
Imagine donating 6 billion to the country’s children and the country responds “you’re a reptilian” 😭 y’all don’t deserve shit https://t.co/bmorVhAxkE

The term also draws on a longstanding fringe conspiracy theory claiming that powerful public figures are secretly shape-shifting reptiles. Nothing in the footage supports such a claim, and many of the comments appear to be jokes or insults rather than literal accusations.
Other users speculated about cosmetic surgery, Botox and fillers, with some invoking 'Mar-a-Lago face', an online label associated with a particular cosmetic aesthetic among people linked to Trump's social circle. Dell has not publicly confirmed undergoing any of the procedures being discussed.
Social Media Split on Dell's White House Appearance
The reaction was far from unanimous. While some posts mocked Dell's looks, others questioned why a charitable announcement had become an argument about her face.
'Imagine donating 6 billion to the country's children, and the country responds, "you're a reptilian",' one X user wrote. Another asked, 'I don't get the hate??? She looks pretty dang awesome.' A separate commenter criticised people for 'mocking a woman's face while she helps children'.
Some criticism moved beyond appearances to the Dells' wealth and motives. Commenters questioned whether billionaires benefit financially from philanthropy, while others raised claims about government contracts. Those posts offered no evidence establishing wrongdoing connected to the donation.
Dell Couple's White House Pledge
Susan and Michael Dell were at the White House to promote Trump Accounts, a government-backed investment scheme for children. They first announced their $6.25 billion commitment in December 2025, intending to provide $250 (£189) each to 25 million eligible children.
At the 7 October event, Michael Dell said 10 million accounts had already been funded and that the couple expected to reach 25 million by the end of the week.
The Dells' contribution covers eligible children born between 2016 and 2024, while the federal government separately provides $1,000 (£755) for qualifying minors born from 2025 through 2028 under the scheme.
Susan urged parents and grandparents to claim the accounts, speaking about letters received from families. Trump praised her remarks and jokingly offered his endorsement if she decided to run for office.
The Oval Office visit was intended to publicise the children's programme. Online, however, discussion of Dell's appearance continued alongside questions about the donation and its beneficiaries.
