Susan Dell, the billionaire philanthropist and wife of Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell, has urged American families to claim their children's Trump Accounts, insisting money is 'already waiting' for them. However, her promotional appearance sparked online ridicule, with some viewers comparing her to an alien rather than discussing the financial initiative.

The remarks came during a White House event on 7 October, where the Dells promoted their multibillion-dollar commitment to the Trump administration's children's investment programme.

Susan Dell Urges Parents to Claim Trump Accounts With Money Waiting

Speaking alongside President Donald Trump and her husband, Susan Dell encouraged parents and grandparents to secure their children's financial futures.

'To every child across the country, these accounts are for you. We believe in you and we want you to dream big because we know you can make your dreams come true,' she said.

She then urged families to claim the investment accounts, stressing that funds were available.

'So parents and grandparents, please claim your child's account. These accounts are ready, they're waiting for you and they have money in them.'

Dell also encouraged families to make additional contributions to help build their children's savings.

Her appeal followed Michael Dell's announcement that the couple had funded 10 million accounts, with plans to complete their commitment to 25 million children by the end of the week.

Susan Dell Video Sparks 'Alien' Jibes and Online Mockery

While Susan Dell's speech focused on children's financial futures, some social media users instead mocked her appearance and posture in the video.

'The aliens are already here!' one X user commented.

The ridicule extended to Reddit, where a 7 October discussion questioning Dell's posture attracted hundreds of votes and numerous comments. One user wrote, 'Aliens really do exist,' while another compared her to a reptile wearing a human disguise.

The reactions shifted attention from Dell's Trump Accounts message to her physical appearance.

What Are Trump Accounts and Which Children Receive $1,000?

Trump Accounts are tax-advantaged investment accounts established under legislation passed in 2025 to help American children accumulate long-term savings.

The US Treasury announced on 1 October that automatic enrolment had been completed for eligible children under 18 with valid Social Security numbers.

However, not every account automatically qualifies for the same financial contribution.

Eligible US citizens born between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2028 can receive a one-time $1,000 (£756.92) government contribution.

Parents or guardians must claim their children's accounts to manage them and access applicable contributions. Families can also make additional deposits, generally subject to a $5,000 (£3,785.15) annual contribution limit.

Michael and Susan Dell Pledge $6.25 Billion to Trump Accounts

Michael and Susan Dell have committed $6.25 billion (approximately £4.73 billion) to provide $250 (£189.95) contributions to 25 million children's Trump Accounts.

Their privately funded contributions are separate from the government's $1,000 payments for qualifying newborns.

Michael Dell said the couple expected to fulfil their pledge by 9 October, extending financial support to millions of children who would not qualify for the government's newborn contribution.

According to Invest America, the Dell-funded deposits were expected to be completed by Friday, with families advised to check their accounts the following week.
