Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya Allegedly 'Hate' Each Other Making it Impossible to Film New 'Euphoria' Episodes
Unpacking the alleged feud between 'Euphoria' co-stars

Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya have been sparking feud rumours for quite some time now, and the speculation about the co-stars' reportedly rocky dynamic has been building ahead of the release of 'Euphoria' Season 3.
For several years, fans have been wondering what happened to the hit TV series. 'Euphoria' was never cancelled, but new episodes simply stopped coming. The show's second season wrapped in 2021, making it a five-year wait. A source is now claiming that Sweeney and Zendaya caused the delays themselves.
So Much Hate?
According to an unverified blind gossip account on TikTok, Sweeney and Zendaya have not been on good terms, which allegedly made it difficult to film the upcoming episodes. The account also claimed the co-stars allegedly hate each other and could not maintain a working relationship on set.
The same account claimed that Sweeney is also at odds with other 'Euphoria' cast members, including Maude Apatow and Alexa Demie, and that no one wanted to do press with her. If true, it would make promoting the series even more complicated.

What Fans Have to Say
'Euphoria' fans have had mixed reactions to the rumours. Some said that if Sweeney was really behind the delays, her character should have simply been written off. Others pushed back, saying her character, Cassie Howard, is one of the most compelling in the series. And that losing her would take away one of the few storylines fans are actually excited to see resolved in Season 3.
Some fans are also convinced the alleged tension has something to do with politics. 'Sydney is secretly far right, and Zendaya is a known liberal,' one person commented. Another fan raised the point: 'Why would their feud affect the show when they barely have scenes together?' — to which others noted that Zendaya is one of the show's executive producers, giving her considerably more influence over the production than a typical cast member.
Other Possible Reasons for the Delays
That said, there is no evidence that a personal feud is actually what caused the delays. Several other factors have been cited, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the deaths of cast member Angus Cloud and executive producer Kevin Turner, and various cast members taking on other projects in the interim. Creator Sam Levinson also reportedly faced significant challenges developing storylines now that the characters have moved beyond high school, a shift that required rethinking the tone and direction of the entire series.
Tom Holland Allegedly Involved
Neither Zendaya nor Sweeney has publicly addressed the rumours. A promotional video for 'Euphoria' Season 3 posted on the HBO Max TikTok account features the cast but notably not Sweeney, which reignited speculation online. Earlier this year, rumours also claimed the alleged feud had become personal because of Tom Holland, with Zendaya allegedly warning Sweeney to stay away from the actor after seeing them talk on set. It is the kind of rumour that is difficult to ignore once it starts circulating, even without anything concrete to back it up.
That rumour has not been substantiated. No photos or videos of Sweeney and Holland together have surfaced, and Holland and Zendaya remain in a relationship.
'Euphoria' Season 3 premieres on HBO Max on 12 April.
