John Terry's Father Edward on Racist Attack Charge

The dad of star footballer John Terry has been accused of mounting a racist attack on a man in a street brawl.

Edward Terry, 59, was allegedly involved in a scuffle in Fenchurch Street in the City of London, in March.

He has been charged with racially aggravated common assault and causing racially aggravated fear of violence by City of London Police.

Edward Terry, of Grays, Essex, was charged along with two other men. Tudor Musteata, 47, of London, was charged with causing racially aggravated fear of violence. Stephen John Niland, 36, of Romford, Essex has been charged with racially aggravated fear of violence.

Terry was bailed with his co-defendants to appear at City London Magistrates Court on 23 July.

It is the latest brush with the law for the Terry family on race charges. Last year, Chelsea captain John Terry stood trial for allegedly racially abusing Aton Ferdinand during a Premier League match in 2011.

He was cleared at Southwark Crown Court, but an FA enquiry found him guilty on a lower standard of proof.
