Leandro Damiao's agent Vinicius Prates insists the Brazilian striker could still make a move from Internacional to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The 23-year-old has long been linked with a move to White Hart Lane and it was understood that Spurs were weighing up a summer approach for the forward. But Prates claimed last week that the north London outfit were yet to make an offer for his client and could miss out on signing him, as the player was attracted by a move to Marseille instead.

However, the agent has now backtracked on those comments and stated Tottenham still remain a possible summer destination for Damiao, with the Brazil international keen on Premier League action.

"Of course all players dream of playing in the Premier League. Tottenham are an important club in London, we can't rule them out," Prates pointed out.

Damiao's current contract with Internacional runs till 2017. The forward, who scored eight goals from 18 appearances for the club this season, has been withdrawn from his Brazil's Confederations Cup squad, after picking up a thigh injury during training last week.

Dembele Wants Bale Stay

Meanwhile, Tottenham midfielder Moussa Dembele has urged the club to not sell talisman Gareth Bale this summer.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are both understood to be interested in signing the Welshman, who scored 21 goals from 34 Premier League appearances last season.

"He is an unbelievable player, so you never hope that your best player goes. That's my case as well. At the club we talk to each other a lot and he is a good guy," Dembele stressed.

The Belgium international, who joined Spurs from Fulham last summer, is confident the club will have a better season next time.

"We are looking forward to starting the competition again because I think we can do big things. I always think I can do better. It was my first year [last season] and I hope next year I can do much better," the 25-year-old added.
