Travis Barker has revealed he underwent surgery after sharing photos from a hospital bed with wife Kourtney Kardashian and daughter Alabama Barker.

The Blink-182 drummer initially prompted concern among fans after posting the images on Instagram Stories on Tuesday, 6 October, before explaining the next day that he had been experiencing numbness in his arm, hand and fingers since a show the previous month.

To recall, Barker has faced serious health scares before. In June 2022, he was rushed to hospital after developing severe pancreatitis following an endoscopy, a complication he later attributed to the removal of a small polyp that damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube.

Travis Barker Reveals Cubital Tunnel Release Surgery After Hospital Photos

In the latest posts, Barker, 50, appeared in a blue hospital gown with a surgical cap and medical bracelet, an IV in his arm and blood pressure monitoring equipment visible.

One selfie showed Alabama, 20, beside him with the caption, 'My baby girl came with me 🖤.' Another showed him kissing Kardashian from the bed, captioned, 'And my beautiful wife by my side 🖤.'

On Wednesday, 7 October, Barker disclosed that he had undergone surgery to address the nerve problem.

He said his arm, hand and fingers had been numb since performing at a show the previous month and that a nerve test on Monday, 5 October, showed he needed a cubital tunnel release.

Barker said he wanted to address the issue so he could continue playing drums for a long time and added that he expected to be 'good in a few weeks.'

Cubital tunnel release is a procedure used to relieve pressure on the ulnar nerve around the elbow. Barker's comments indicate that his latest hospital visit was related to the nerve problem rather than his previous pancreatitis episode.

Kourtney Kardashian Support as Travis Barker Recovers From Surgery

The posts arrived alongside lighter family content. Shortly after sharing the hospital images, Barker uploaded a video of his and Kardashian's two-year-old son, Rocky, riding an inflatable dinosaur while John Williams' Jurassic Park theme played in the background.

Barker and Kardashian share a blended family. Kardashian has three children with ex-husband Scott Disick — Mason, 16, Penelope, 14, and Reign, 11. Barker has two children, Landon, 22, and Alabama, 20, with former wife Shanna Moakler, as well as stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, 27.

The latest health update came directly from Barker after his initial hospital photos prompted questions from fans. No further details about his recovery have been announced beyond his expectation that he should be able to resume playing normally within a few weeks.

Fans flooded the comments section with messages of support, with many thanking the musician for being open about his health. Others noted how quickly he had moved to clarify the situation, something that does not always happen in celebrity circles.

Barker's decision to share the images himself, rather than letting speculation run unchecked, drew praise from followers who said it helped calm unnecessary alarm. A few even joked that the drummer was already planning his return to the kit, given his upbeat tone.

The couple's public display of support also resonated with long-time observers of their relationship. Kardashian has frequently been seen at Barker's side during medical appointments and public appearances, a dynamic that fans have come to expect from the pair.
