Donald Trump Spotted 'Flinging' Left Leg Forward as Critics Argue He Cannot Walk in a Straight Line

A video of President Donald Trump walking away from reporters towards Marine One has prompted online questions about his left leg and claims that he cannot walk in a straight line.

Shared by the account @Acyn, the clip shows him turning away from journalists and walking towards the United States Marine Corps aircraft.

Another clip showed Trump, 80, walking along a red carpet ahead of Chinese leader Xi Jinping's arrival. He appeared to sway to one side. Journalist Aaron Rupar wrote on X that Trump 'can't walk in a straight line', an observation drawn from footage rather than a medical assessment.

Trump's Left Leg Becomes the Focus

Viewers of the Marine One clip pointed out how Trump moved his left leg. 'What's with his left leg?' one person asked. Another replied, 'I noticed that, too. It's like he's flinging it forward instead of stepping normally.'

Other comments described the walk as a 'meander' and called it 'embarrassing'. One user asked whether Trump had forgotten 'where the door was', although the clip itself cannot answer questions about his intentions or health. A short clip became the basis for a much broader claim.

The reaction resembles the response to the red carpet video. There, too, a visible movement prompted a claim about Trump's ability to walk straight. The footage shows how he moved on those occasions, but no examination or medical finding explains why.

Trump Health Questions Predate the Clip

An earlier challenge came from a group of doctors. An open letter dated 30 April and signed by 36 physicians called for Trump's removal from office under the 25th Amendment.

One signatory, psychiatrist Henry David Abraham, later told SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah that he believed the President had become 'worse' since the letter was written.

Abraham compared Trump with an airline pilot displaying what he described as the President's symptoms, saying he would not want to fly with such a pilot.

Abraham also questioned the information available about presidential health. 'It doesn't make sense, and yet, we have a system which enfolds the president's health in a shroud of secrecy,' he said. His remarks express his opinion. Neither walking clip is accompanied by a clinical assessment.

Trump's Doctor Offers a Different Assessment

The White House has rejected Abraham's criticism. Spokesperson David Ingle called him 'a Trump Deranged loser engaging in armchair diagnosis for political purposes' in a statement to the Independent. His response addressed Abraham's comments, but did not explain the movements highlighted by viewers of the Marine One clip.

That distinction matters when a few seconds of video are being scrutinised so closely. Viewers can describe the movement they see. Claims about what caused it require evidence that the clips do not provide, regardless of how confidently those claims are expressed online.

In May, Trump's doctor, US Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, stated, 'President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.' His assessment does not specifically address either the recording or the comments about Trump's left leg.
