Trump's $7B Fortune Takes a Hit as Truth Social and Crypto Holdings Shed $1.7B in Value
Trump's net worth has surged by over $2.7 billion since he won the 2024 elections

US President Donald Trump's $7 billion fortune has taken a substantial hit as shares of his social media company and the value of his cryptocurrency holdings have plunged, wiping out an estimated $1.77 billion from three of his most closely watched assets over the past year.
Forbes' latest estimate puts Trump's net worth at $7 billion, down $300 million from a year earlier. The decline comes despite a sharp increase in his liquid assets and a stronger performance from his golf clubs and other businesses.
The figures highlight the volatility of the wealth Trump accumulated through his political brand, particularly his exposure to Trump Media & Technology Group, the company behind Truth Social, as well as the $TRUMP memecoin and World Liberty Financial tokens.
Trump Media Stake Loses Nearly $1 Billion
The biggest decline in Trump's asset value came from Trump Media & Technology Group, whose shares have fallen about 50% over the past year, according to Forbes.
That decline reduced the estimated value of Trump's stake in the company by about $980 million to approximately $1 billion.
Trump Media, whose flagship product is the Truth Social platform, has increasingly expanded beyond social media. The company has even raised over $1 billion and has moved into cryptocurrency-related activities, while also pursuing other ventures.
Multiple media outlets had earlier noted that the company had been valued by investors at around $5 billion despite reporting net losses of close to $700 million.
$TRUMP Memecoin Losses Continue to Mount
Elsewhere, Trump's cryptocurrency exposure has also suffered considerably. The $TRUMP memecoin fell roughly 70% over the past year, reducing the estimated value of Trump's holdings by $525 million. Forbes' latest asset breakdown values his remaining $TRUMP holdings at about $185 million.
The decline follows the extraordinary surge surrounding the token after its launch, when Trump's memecoin holdings were estimated to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Meme coins tied to Trump have reportedly led to investor losses of over $3 billion.
World Liberty Financial has suffered a similar reversal. Its tokens plunged roughly 75%, cutting an estimated $260 million from the value of Trump's holdings. Forbes now values those tokens at approximately $80 million. Combined, the three assets lost $1.7 billion in estimated value.
Trump's Fortune Still Rises Sharply
Despite such losses, Trump remains considerably wealthier than before his return to the White House.
Forbes estimates that his fortune has increased by about $2.7 billion since he won the 2024 presidential election. His net worth reached approximately $7.3 billion in September 2025 before falling to its current $7 billion estimate.
One reason the decline was relatively limited is that Trump substantially increased his liquid assets. Forbes estimates his liquid assets at $1.9 billion, up $800 million from a year earlier.
His property and golf businesses have also gained in value. Forbes estimates his US golf courses at $705 million, while his licensing and management business is valued at $655 million. Meanwhile, Mar-a-Lago is estimated at $620 million.
The result is a striking shift in the composition of Trump's wealth. While the value of his Truth Social and crypto holdings has fallen sharply, cash generated from those ventures and stronger performance across his private business empire have somewhat helped cushion the overall decline.
