UK: Woman arrested after two men die in Islington flat blaze
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the bodies of two men were found following a fire at a flat in central London.
One man was in his 50s and the second man was in his 40s. Their bodies were discovered on the third floor of Stelfox House in Penton Rise, Islington, on Friday (2 January) evening.
More than 20 fire-fighters attended the scene of the blaze just after 19:00 GMT.
Det Con Insp Glen Lloyd has urged anyone who may have seen anything unusual early on Friday evening, to contact police.
"Two men have died and my team are eager to hear from anyone who was in the area or passing by before or just after this fire started," he said.
The woman is currently in custody at a north London police station pending further inquiries.
A formal identification of the men is to be made and the next of kin are yet to be informed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
