WWE has announced a fight between Roman Reigns and Rusev for the United States Championship at Hell In A Cell 2016. The Raw brand exclusive pay-per-view (PPV) event will air from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday (30 October).

Now, reports suggest that WWE could be planning to hold the first women's Hell In A Cell match at its upcoming show.

According to Forbes, Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer has claimed that Sasha Banks could defend her Raw Women's Championship against former champion Charlotte at Hell In A Cell 2016. Banks had defeated Charlotte for the title in the previous edition of Monday Night Raw.

Hell In A Cell matches are known for their brutality as wrestlers frequently suffer injuries after leaping off the top of the cage to take down their opponents. These fights are similar to steel cage fights where wrestlers also sustain injuries. Although both fights happen in a steel cage, the winner is decided in a different manner. Wrestlers need to get a submission or pinfall during Hell In A Cell fight, while in a steel cage match they need to climb out of the cage to emerge victorious. Until now, 33 Hell in a Cell matches have been held since it was introduced in 1997.
