After searching the stars for alien life as FBI special agent Fox Mulder in The X-Files, actor David Duchovny got a star of his own yesterday (25 January 2016) on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The actor, who has appeared in numerous television shows outside of The X-Files including Twin Peaks, Californication and Aquarius, appeared alongside X-Files producer Chris Carter and comedian Garry Shandling.

"I wouldn't have a career without Chris and his show The X-Files. That really made everything happen for me as an actor," Duchovny told fans gathered to help celebrate the occasion.

Shandling, who also took to the podium to speak, worked with Duchovny on The Larry Sanders Show, for which Duchovny was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. The new six-part series of The X-Files began on US television on 24 January on Fox.
