World number one Andy Murray will take on Dominic Thiem in the first semi-final of the Men's Singles clash of the 2017 Barcelona Open at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona on 29 April, Saturday.

Murray has never made it to the final of the Barcelona Open and is one win away from achieving that feat. For him to overcome it, he has to beat Thiem in the first semi-final on Saturday.
After returning from injury, the Scot is playing in his second competition. The first one being Monte-Carlo Masters where he suffered a shock third round defeat at the hands of Albert Ramos Vinolas.
Luckily for Murray, he was successful in getting revenge over the Spaniard. He defeated him in the quarter-final of the Barcelona Open to seal a berth in the last four. Murray came from a set down to win the match 2-6, 6-4, 7-6.
Thiem has had no trouble so far in the ongoing competition in the Catalan city. He has not dropped a set and will be hoping for the run to extend in order to make it to the final of the 2017 Barcelona Open.
In the previous round, the Austrian tennis star beat Yūichi Sugita comfortably in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, on Friday. A victory for either Thiem or Murray will see them face the winner of the second semi-final between Rafael Nadal and Horacio Zeballos.
