Apple has just seeded the final iteration of iOS 9.2.1 update for eligible iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. The final update follows the release of two betas for iOS 9.2.1 and the first beta for iOS 9.3.

The iOS 9.2.1 is just a minor bug-fix update with a bunch of security fixes added to it. Interested users who are already running iOS 9 on their device can go ahead and install the new update via Settings > General > Software Update.

In addition to the various security fixes, the iOS 9.2.1 final update features the following:

  • Bug fixes
  • A fix for an issue that can prevent a completion of app installation when using an MDM server

Apple has credited a few noteworthy jailbreak developers on its support site including Nikias Bassen aka pimskeks for their invaluable contribution in identifying and helping to patch up various security issues in iOS 9.

Avid jailbreakers are advised to skip the incremental update as there is no public jailbreak available for devices running iOS 9.1 or above. However, non-jailbreakers can go ahead and install the automatic update via software settings or do a manual update using the appropriate download links below.
