The Atelier Versace line of the famous Italian fashion company Versace, opened the Paris Haute Couture show with some of the most stunning evening gown creations, as part of its Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection, at The Ritz in Paris on Sunday.

Known for predominantly evening-wear and cocktail dresses, the Versace show was a true reflection of the Atelier collection and while long, floor-length gowns in light hues ruled the ramp, chic short dresses vied for attention.

Models presented creations by Donatella Versace, the Italian designer who is also the vice-president of the Versace Group, exhibiting the intricacies with which each creation has been designed. The colours of the collection drew inspiration from nature - the sun, clouds, the moon and the like.

"This season's Atelier Versace collection is built upon the idea of deconstruction and reconstruction in all its various forms. Inspired by the imagery and decoration of tarot cards, powerful symbols such as the sun, moon and world are reproduced on weightless fabrics with a glass effect," the fashion company posted on its official Facebook page.

Each Atelier Versace gown is designed as a single piece and is made to measure for one person only, which is a special feature of the brand. Famous as red carpet gowns, all the creations presented during the Versace show are expected to be charming accoutrements to some lucky celebrity's red carpet fashion statement in the future.

"These dresses are made for elites, who know about their impact on the red carpet – created for powerful women like Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez, Claudia Schiffer," reads a description of Atelier Versace, on the brand's official Web site.
