Daughter Tells Convicted Murderer Father Caleb Flynn That She Does Not Plan on Ever Coming To See Him
Flynn was convicted of murdering Ashley Flynn, whose children's victim impact statements were read at his sentencing hearing

The hearing followed a jury verdict finding Flynn, 40, guilty of aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence. Ashley Flynn, 37, was found shot twice in the head in the couple's bed on 16 February 2026.
Caleb Flynn's Daughter Says She Does Not Plan To Visit
Victim impact statements written by the couple's two children were read in court by Flynn's former brother-in-law and mother-in-law. Those relatives, along with Ashley Flynn's sister, are now caring for the children, Court TV reported. Flynn sat sobbing as the statements were read.
One daughter addressed her father directly through her statement. 'It's sad that you can't love anyone but yourself,' she wrote, before telling him, 'I don't plan on coming to see you.'
The other child's letter, also read aloud in court, began, 'Dear Daddy, I don't even know where to start. How could you do such a thing?' Her statement described her mother's care for Flynn and questioned why he had cheated on her.
'Mommy was the perfect person, the absolute perfect person. What did she ever do to make you hate her so much? She loved you. And she cared for you. She took care of you. She loved you with all her heart.'
The Evidence Behind Caleb Flynn's Conviction
Flynn had called 911 to report that an intruder had broken into the family home, killed his wife and fled. According to Court TV, investigators found no evidence supporting his account.
Prosecutors told the jury that Flynn killed his wife because he loved Alleigha Botner, a worship leader at his church with whom he had conducted an affair for more than a year.
Botner testified at the trial and read from more than 107,000 text messages the pair exchanged. Court TV reported that many of those messages discussed a mutual hatred of Ashley Flynn.
At sentencing, Judge Jeannine Pratt condemned Flynn's conduct. 'The layers of deceit, manipulation and cruelty that you have shown are, quite honestly, impossible to fathom,' she stated. 'And the court finds that deeply disturbing.'
Pratt sentenced Flynn to life without the possibility of parole. Flynn continued to maintain his innocence.
Caleb Flynn Denies Killing His Wife
The former American Idol contestant cried through much of the hearing, as he had during his trial and an administrative hearing after his conviction, Court TV reported. He had appeared on Season 12 of the reality competition series years before his arrest.
'I made vows to Ashley on our wedding day. I failed those vows,' Flynn told the court.
'I loved her and I love her. She is, was, my wife. She was beautiful and amazing in countless ways. Lastly, I have, unfortunately, lied about a lot of things over the last couple of years, but as I stand here, before God, who is my ultimate judge, I am not lying when I say I did not kill my wife. I will continue to fight for my innocence as long as the Lord allows me to. I did not kill my wife.'
