Chelsea loanee Charly Musonda is set to return to action after having being missed at Real Betis for more than a month due to a knee injury. The Belgium international was forced to return to Stamford Bridge for treatment last month but he is now back at Sevilla and on Tuesday (15 November) was able to complete a training session with the rest of his La Liga teammates.

The 20-year-old offensive midfielder was sent on loan to Betis during the summer transfer window after he already spent the second part of last season at the Andalucian side. Musonda made then an instant impact in La Liga, becoming a favourite with supporters after helping his to side avoid relegation with a total of 15 appearances.

However, the Chelsea starlet has failed to replicate that form in the opening part of the new season. Firstly, the Belgium youngster failed to convince manager Gustavo Poyet he deserved a role in his plans, then his season suffered a new blow in October after suffering a knee injury.

Betis then set the alarms bell ringing after revealing that the player had returned to Chelsea for treatment as he had damaged his knee ligaments.

"Charly Musonda is suffering some niggles in the collateral ligaments of his left knee following a knock," Betis confirmed then via their official website. "The player has travelled to London in order to be checked by the Chelsea FC doctors. He will stay there during the week for the English club to address the length of the injury."

The Belgium starlet eventually stayed longer than expected at Chelsea but it looks that his luck could be about to change. Yet, last week Real Betis decided to sack Poyet and appoint Victor Sanchez del Amo as his replacement, and now have revealed that Musonda was back in full training for the new manager on Tuesday as the Andalucians continue their preparation for the Friday encounter with Las Palmas.

"Real Betis first team has completed this morning the second training session with Víctor Sánchez del Amo in charge of the team. The main news has come with the presence of Charly Musonda. The young Belgian player had been out for several weeks due to problems in his knee, but today has finished his first session with the team since then," the La Liga side confirmed through an official statement.
