Chet Hanks Mocks Eric André's '4 Security Guards' After Filmed Confrontation Reignites Three-Year Feud
Chet Hanks mocks Eric André's alleged four security guards after sharing a ComplexCon confrontation that revives their feud over a 2023 TV appearance

Chet Hanks has revived his feud with Eric André after sharing a filmed confrontation at ComplexCon and mocking the comedian for allegedly attending with '4 security guards'.
The actor and musician used his Instagram caption to revisit André's criticism of his behaviour on The Eric Andre Show, claiming the host initially professed no recollection of their dispute. The encounter brought a disagreement that began publicly in 2023 into an in-person exchange.
ComplexCon took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on 3 and 4 October. Coverage of Hanks' video followed on 6 October, bringing renewed attention to their conflicting accounts of the television appearance.
Hanks Turns Security Into His Latest Taunt
Hanks' caption made André's security arrangements part of the argument, suggesting the comedian felt uncomfortable at the event.
He also claimed André had 'NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER' of criticising him in the media and repeated his assertion that he had outperformed the host on his own programme.
Those remarks represent Hanks' account. The number of guards and his explanation for their presence have not been independently established.
Hanks further alleged that André raised objections to his previous use of a Jamaican accent, which he said the comedian regarded as mocking Caribbean culture. He sarcastically described André as a 'passionate cultural activist', contrasting that position with the provocative humour associated with his show.
The caption extended beyond the immediate encounter, bringing a separate criticism of Hanks' public persona into their argument. André's alleged remarks about the accent remain attributed to Hanks, rather than independently verified comments from the comedian.
What Happened at ComplexCon?
Reports describing the footage say Hanks approached André from behind and placed a hand on his shoulder before the pair exchanged words.
ComingSoon described a heated discussion followed by André walking away with security. Its account noted no visible violence in the footage.
The recording and Hanks' accompanying explanation serve different purposes: the clip documents an encounter, while the caption supplies his interpretation of André's behaviour and motives. Neither establishes that André accepted Hanks' version of their earlier disagreement.
No separate response from André addressing the latest caption was identified in the reporting reviewed for this article.
The Motorcycle Dispute That Started the Feud
Their public falling-out began in March 2023, when André criticised Hanks' conduct during filming for his Adult Swim series. André alleged that Hanks rode a motorcycle around the studio and came close to knocking crew members from ladders. He characterised the behaviour as dangerous.
Hanks disputed that portrayal. In his response, he said he had watched the programme before appearing and intended to match its deliberately chaotic style.
He acknowledged riding the bike and performing a wheelie but argued that André had misunderstood his attempt to participate in the show's humour. He also accused the host of resenting being overshadowed.
In June 2023, André told The Independent he wanted Hanks to repeat his insults face-to-face.
More than three years later, their ComplexCon meeting has revived the same unresolved disagreement: André's criticism of Hanks' conduct and Hanks' insistence that he was responding to the programme's confrontational comedy.
