Mom Influencer Cindy Tamez Posted 'I'd Burn Down My Own House' Message Hours Before Killing Her Family
A TikTok influencer's final posts are under scrutiny after her partner and three sons were found dead in a suspected murder-suicide in Mexico

A TikTok creator with tens of thousands of followers is at the centre of an investigation into the deaths of her partner and three sons after Cinthia Abigail Tamez Rivera, known online as mom influencer Cindy Tamez, posted an ominous warning about her 'nasty side' hours before the five family members were found dead in Montemorelos, Mexico.
Authorities discovered Tamez, whose age has been reported as 33 or 34, and her two-year-old son Gustavo fatally shot inside a red Jeep Mojave at about 9.40am on Wednesday, 30 September, with a .38-calibre pistol recovered from the vehicle.
About three blocks away, officers found her partner, Leodegario Moya, 28, and her two older sons, Christian and Bruno, dead inside the family home. Local reports differ on the older boys' ages, with some identifying Christian as 12 and Bruno as 11.
Chilling Posts Before Mom Influencer Cindy Tamez Family Deaths
For context, Tamez had built a following of more than 70,000 on TikTok by sharing fashion clips and glimpses of her life in northern Mexico. Her final post, published on the same day she was found dead, has since drawn scrutiny.
Over footage filmed inside a vehicle, Spanish text appeared to say, 'Not everyone knows my nasty side. I am capable of burning down my house just to see the neighbour's burning, even knowing that I'll get [hurt] too.'
The wording is based on translations published by media outlets and should not be treated as a verbatim English quotation.
Other videos circulating after the killings highlighted a pattern of vengeful rhetoric, with captions warning that she could 'give it back twice as hard' and that she never 'screws someone over unless they've screwed me over first.'
Javier Flores Saldívar, the attorney general of Nuevo León, said the ballistic evidence linked the .38-calibre pistol recovered from the Jeep to the shootings at both locations. The findings have strengthened investigators' preliminary theory that Tamez killed her partner and children before taking her own life, although the investigation remains open.
According to reports of the prosecutor's comments, investigators believe she left the home with Gustavo before the child was fatally shot and Tamez died by suicide.
Mom Influencer Cindy Tamez Case Under Investigation
The Attorney General's Office of Nuevo León has opened a preliminary investigation and is examining surveillance footage, ballistic evidence and other forensic material to reconstruct the family's final hours.
Authorities are also investigating whether a third person could have been involved, while a specialised unit within the Fiscalía examines the deaths, according to Mexican media reports.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the circumstances and motive have not been conclusively established. Local reports say all five people died from gunshot wounds, while the firearm recovered from the Jeep and ballistic evidence have been linked to both crime scenes.
Not every detail of the investigation has been independently verified, and the accounts cited above are based on statements from authorities and reports from Mexican media outlets including Milenio, Meganoticias, Reforma and El Financiero.
Authorities are also reportedly examining Tamez's business activities, which local coverage has described as money-lending and the buying and selling of items including watches, vehicles, chains and mobile phones.
Investigators are looking into whether those activities or any related disputes could have played a role in the deaths, although no connection has been established publicly.
The investigation remains focused on reconstructing the sequence of events and establishing a possible motive.
Tamez's final social-media posts are among the material receiving scrutiny, but investigators have not publicly established what prompted the violence or whether the posts were directly connected to the deaths.
