Leicester City's new manager Claudio Ranieri was officially unveiled on 20 July, and praised the players he inherited from Nigel Pearson.

"I'm very excited to start a new season," he said. "Leicester is a great club in England and I'm very happy to be here. Today at the training ground was amazing.

"There are so many people working hard for Leicester and the players are so strong. They work hard with passion and heart. Not only the players, but the staff here too.

"We must continue to build a solid foundation, then start to improve. I will improve the players tactically too."

Ranieri also issued Esteban Cambiasso an ultimatum over whether the former Argentina midfielder wants to stay at the club.

"I've had a conversation with him. I have spoken to him, I know him from Inter Milan, I coached him there. I said to him 'I need you, everybody loves you in Leicester, please come back'.

"He told me he wants to wait and look at all the opportunities offered to him and then he will choose. But we need a yes or a no because at the start of the season he is a team leader and if he doesn't come I need another team leader. We don't start the season without a player like him."
