Dua Lipa and her husband Callum Turner ran into a longtime sports personality on a date night at Yankee Stadium.

During the Yankees-Rays baseball match that played out on 7 October, the singer was spotted chatting with Laurence Leavy. Leavy was dubbed by the sports community as 'Marlins Man' due to a trademark outfit of orange Miami Marlins merchandise that he wears to various sports events.

The brief interaction drew lots of attention online. Leavy addressed his encounter with the celebrity couple in two social media posts.

While enjoying a night out at Yankee Stadium, Lipa and Turner were caught on camera speaking with Leavy, the travelling sports superfan.

In a viral clip, Marlins Man was shown chatting animatedly with the couple. Another showed him holding up his phone and apparently showing something on the screen.

He made sure to take a photo with the celebrity couple and share it on his X account. This left fans wondering what conversations he had with them during the baseball match.

He later revealed the details of the interaction, saying he showed them 'stuff about Bad Bunny' and talking about standing during 'God Bless America'.

Leavy had nothing but praise for Lipa after watching the game together, he shared.

'I got to tell you. She is super nice. Just married. And I wished her 50 years of happiness. Plus, it was her 1st baseball game and 1st hot dog ever. Special night,' he wrote.

'She is SUPER NICE. Maybe the best celebrity I've ever met,' he shared in another post.

Lipa and Turner sat two rows behind home plate, with a perfect view of the field. They appeared relaxed throughout the game, laughing and chatting. At one point, cameras caught them sitting through an intense first-inning moment before someone near them encouraged them to stand.

The pair also seemed to be recognised by fans in the stadium. In one TikTok, Lipa was seen hugging a man wearing a blue cap while Turner shook his hand.

While the game ended in a loss for the Yankees and added yet another year to their losing streak, at least it seems the famed Marlins Man saw the night as a success.

The Yankees game was just one of the outings Lipa and Turner had been publicly seen at since their marriage.

In July, the two newlyweds attended the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where Spain faced Argentina. The outing marked their first public appearance together since their marriage earlier in the summer.

Lipa and Turner married in an intimate civil ceremony at London's Old Marylebone Town Hall on 31 May, surrounded by close friends and family. In August, they made their first red-carpet appearance as a married couple, stepping out together after a honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast.

In September, the newlyweds attended Bulgari's Serpenti Infinito celebration during New York Fashion Week.
