Former Army Psychic Who Spied on Mars Claims He Spotted 12FT-Tall Humans and Ruined Structures Nearby
Joe McMoneagle's Mars remote-viewing claims resurface as the former Army viewer describes giant humanoids and alleged ruins on the Red Planet

Retired US Army Chief Warrant Officer Joe McMoneagle has reignited extraordinary conspiracy theories by detailing a declassified Cold War remote-viewing session that allegedly targeted Mars.
Speaking on the Align Podcast recently, McMoneagle said he perceived giant human-like figures and damaged structures. He also claimed later images of Mars appeared to match parts of what he had described. None of those claims establishes that an ancient civilisation existed on Mars.
McMoneagle participated in US military remote-viewing work during the Cold War. Those efforts later became associated with Project Stargate, although the programmes changed names and sponsors over time.
A CIA-commissioned review in 1995 ultimately concluded that remote viewing was too unreliable and inconsistent to be useful for intelligence gathering.
A declassified government record dated 22 May 1984 documents a remote-viewing session involving Mars roughly one million years in the past. The document records descriptions of huge structures and very tall, thin people after the subject was given geographic coordinates.
However, the transcript identifies the participant only as 'SUB.' It does not name McMoneagle, although he has subsequently said publicly that he was the viewer involved.
Joe McMoneagle Says Mars Was a Remote-Viewing Target
McMoneagle told host Aaron Alexander that being assigned Mars frustrated him because he preferred targets he could eventually check against outside evidence.
'I got targeted on Mars,' he said. 'It made me very angry because if I can't prove what I've targeted to some extent at a later date or whenever...then I get upset because I'm not learning better things about remote viewing.'
McMoneagle said he retained material from the exercise and later visited NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California. He claimed he received a packet of Mars images connected with the coordinates used during the session.
'When I gave him the GPS locations, he said, 'Oh, that's the old city of Mars,'' McMoneagle said. That alleged exchange rests solely on McMoneagle's account.
The podcast does not identify the JPL employee or provide documentation showing that anyone at the laboratory independently described the area as an ancient city.
The declassified transcript itself refers to geographic coordinates rather than GPS locations. McMoneagle said he later interpreted Mars imagery as showing foundations, damaged machinery, paths, roads and mines.
He also described one object as resembling a large 'shipping container.' Those descriptions remain his interpretation of the imagery. They are not independently verified findings of artificial structures on Mars.
Joe McMoneagle Links Mars Claims to Giant Humans
The 1984 document confirms that a Mars remote-viewing exercise took place. It records the subject describing enormous structures, road-like channels and very tall, thin figures.
It does not establish that any of those things actually existed on Mars. That distinction is important because the US government's later review of remote viewing found major reliability problems.
The CIA says the 1995 evaluation concluded that results were inconsistent and too unreliable for intelligence purposes. McMoneagle nevertheless argues that what he perceived during the Mars exercise reflected something real.
On the Align Podcast, he described the figures as human-like and said they were 'twice our size'. 'My perception is everything that I remotely viewed on Mars had humans involved,' he said. 'They're just like us only twice our size, you can account for that over gravity.'
He went further by speculating that the beings could somehow be connected to humanity's origins. McMoneagle made clear that the theory was conjecture rather than an established conclusion.
'I'm making a long hairy guess that's probably us and something happened on Mars that was eradicating us as an entity, and we were brought here deliberately to save us,' he said.
No evidence presented in the interview demonstrates that humans originated on Mars or descended from a Martian civilisation.
NASA's current Mars research has instead concentrated on whether the planet was once habitable and whether it may preserve evidence of ancient microbial life.
Research has produced evidence that liquid water once shaped the planet and that organic molecules can survive there. Those findings do not establish the existence of ancient humanoids, cities or artificial ruins.
McMoneagle's claims have nevertheless attracted renewed online interest. Reddit discussions have included both people fascinated by the declassified material and others who remain sceptical because his interpretations cannot currently be verified.
That distinction remains central to the story. A documented US government remote-viewing exercise involving Mars exists, but the record does not prove McMoneagle's claims about giant inhabitants or ruined infrastructure.
McMoneagle says he participated in that exercise and believes later imagery supported what he saw. His claims about giant human-like figures, artificial structures and humanity's possible Martian origins remain unverified.
