Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has rubbished reports suggesting winger Gareth Bale has agreed a move to Barcelona.

The Welshman is likely to be the subject of speculation throughout this summer, with his Premier League performances, which earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Season, thrusting him into the spotlight once again.

Bale has often flirted with a possibility of a move abroad, and his future at White Hart Lane may hinge on whether the club can qualify for the Champions League.

"I don't know anything about [the story]," insisted Redknapp.

"I wouldn't think there is the slightest bit of truth in that.

"Not a chance, I wouldn't have thought."

The 22-year-old has scored a Premier League best of 10 goals this season as Spurs temporarily flirted with a title challenge, prior to their struggles to finish in the top four.

Tottenham must beat Fulham on Sunday if they're to reach Europe's premier club competition, however they could be scuppered by Chelsea, who could snatch away their spot if they beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

The weekend could prove pivotal in the club's attempts to keep Bale away from the clutches of Europe's elite and their hopes of retaining striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

With 16 Premier League goals to his name, Adebayor has enjoyed a fruitful loan spell in north London, however his wage demands could halt a permanent move from Manchester City.

"I would love him here," Redknapp added. "He has been great for us. Only the chairman can deal with that one and the financial situation.

"His wages would obviously be a big problem but if Daniel can pull off a deal with them again like he did last year we would love to have him here.

"Let's see what happens on Sunday and take it from there."

Spurs' transfer dealings this summer could be dramatically influenced by Sunday's result, with the carrot of Champions League football likely to tempt some of Europe's finest talents.

Redknapp will be wary of Newcastle United snatching away fourth spot, as Alan Pardew's side take on Everton, with The Toon ready to capitalise on any mistakes at White Hart Lane.
