Great Wolf Lodge Killings: Police Seize Teal Knives as Relatives Make Claims About Accused Mother
Metallica Rose Harrison is accused of killing her husband and son; police have seized knives as they investigate the deaths

Police investigating the Great Wolf Lodge killings in Pennsylvania seized nearly a dozen teal-handled knives from the family home of a woman accused of killing her husband and three-year-old son, according to court records.
Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, faces two counts of criminal homicide after her husband, Charles Harrison, and their son were found dead at the resort in Scotrun on Monday, 12 October.
The family had been staying at Great Wolf Lodge in Pocono Township since 21 September and extended their visit on 5 October, with checkout scheduled for Tuesday, 13 October.
Following the discovery of the bodies, investigators searched the family's home in Towanda for evidence that could help establish what happened.
The investigation also revealed allegations about Harrison's behaviour towards her family, recorded in a search warrant application. Those allegations have not been independently corroborated, and authorities have not established a motive for the deaths.
Great Wolf Lodge Killings Prompt Search of Family Home
The investigation began after a 911 call brought officers to the family's hotel room on Monday. Police found Charles Harrison and the couple's young son dead on mattresses, according to a criminal complaint described by ABC News.
The complaint states that Charles had suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest. The child, identified in court papers by the initials T.H., appeared to have a single stab wound to his chest.
Police identified Metallica Harrison as the person who called emergency services. During the call, she allegedly told the dispatcher that she needed help dying and that her husband and son were already dead. Those alleged statements are recorded in the criminal complaint and have not been tested in court.
Investigators recovered two knives from the bathroom, including what the complaint described as a 'large butcher kitchen knife'. Both had teal handles, and resort employees told police that neither knife belonged to Great Wolf Lodge.

Following the discovery, investigators sought evidence from the family's Towanda home. A search warrant application stated that detectives were looking for material that 'may reveal valuable evidence relating to the motive for this incident'. They also sought evidence that could help establish whether the knives recovered at the resort were connected to items at the family's home.
The warrant application shows that investigators also sought financial records and information about the family's extended stay at the resort. Authorities have not established whether financial circumstances played any role in the deaths.
The application also raised the possibility of finding handwritten notes or electronic records documenting thoughts before or after the incident. These were potential sources of evidence identified by investigators, rather than established findings about Harrison's intentions.
According to an inventory filed with the court and reported by ABC News, officers seized nearly a dozen 'teal knives'. They also recovered a safe, a journal, a financial notebook and a laptop, among other belongings.
However, the similar colour of the knives does not establish a forensic connection. No confirmed match between the knives seized in Towanda and those recovered at the resort has been reported.
Search Warrant Details Relatives' Allegations About Harrison
The search warrant application also records allegations from relatives about the family's relationships. According to local broadcaster WBRE/WYOU, Charles Harrison's sister told investigators that she believed Metallica Harrison was controlling and had isolated Charles and their son from his side of the family.
The sister also alleged that Harrison resented her son and had previously expressed regret about becoming pregnant. According to the broadcaster, she further claimed that Harrison had complained about the child taking away time she could have spent alone with her husband.
Those statements are allegations attributed to a family member and recorded in an investigative document, not established findings. They have not been independently corroborated, and investigators have not established whether the alleged remarks have any connection to the deaths.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The search warrant identifies evidence officers sought, but it does not establish why Charles Harrison and his son were killed.
Monroe County District Attorney Michael Mancuso described the incident as a 'violent domestic tragedy' while announcing the homicide charges. Great Wolf Lodge, meanwhile, said it was 'cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation'.
'We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room at our resort in the Pocono Mountains,' the company said in its Tuesday statement.
'Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected.'
Harrison was denied bail during her arraignment on Tuesday, 13 October, and was placed in Monroe County Correctional Facility, according to Pocono Township Police Department records.
