GTA 6's $400 Collector's Edition Doesn't Include the Game: What Can You Get for Your Money?

Rockstar Games has unveiled a lavish $399.99 (£349.99 in the UK) collector's box for Grand Theft Auto VI, packing it with everything from Oakley sunglasses to a map of Leonida. But there is one conspicuous omission from the nearly $400 package: GTA 6 itself.

Officially called Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, the limited-edition Collector's Box is now available for pre-order while supplies last and is scheduled to arrive on 19 November, the same day as the highly anticipated game.

What Can You Get in the $400 GTA 6 Collector's Box?

Rockstar describes the package as a premium collection inspired by Macca the Gator, the star of a fictional hit television show in Leonida, the state where GTA 6 takes place.

The box contains 11 pieces of GTA 6 merchandise. Leading the collection is a six-inch Macca the Gator figure with a twist-open stash compartment in its base.

Buyers will also receive matte-black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses and a pink GTAVI logo, as well as a New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback featuring Vice City and Leonida details.

The collection also includes a Leonida Keys crossbody bag, Macca the Gator magnetic mirror, Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, Vice City collectible swizzle spoon and a metallic razor blade-style keychain.

Rounding out the box are nine Leonida Keys enamel pins in a metal tin, nine vinyl stickers and a double-sided souvenir poster. One side features characters from Macca the Gator, while the reverse reveals a full map of Leonida.

GTA 6 Is Sold Separately From the $399.99 Collection

Despite the premium price and extensive selection of Grand Theft Auto VI merchandise, Rockstar explicitly states on its store that the GTA 6 game is 'sold separately.'

The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is therefore separate from the Standard and Ultimate editions of Grand Theft Auto VI, both of which include the actual game.

Rockstar has also described the Collector's Box as a limited-edition release, with pre-orders available while supplies last. The company said details about pre-orders across Asia, Latin America and Australia will be announced separately.

GTA 6 Soundtrack Also Arrives on 19 November

The Collector's Box is not the only physical GTA 6 product Rockstar is preparing for launch.

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, created in partnership with Atlantic Records, will also arrive on 19 November alongside the game. The official soundtrack contains 34 original tracks designed to capture the atmosphere of Vice City and Leonida.

The line-up includes Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, PinkPantheress and Keith Richards.

Rockstar released the album's first six singles on 17 September across major streaming services, including Travis Scott's 'RHYNO,' Morgan Wallen's 'Last Thing You Need' and Keith Richards' 'Bright Lights, Big City.'

GTA 6 Album Gets Separate Physical Editions

Unlike the $399.99 Collector's Box, the soundtrack is being offered separately in several physical formats.

Rockstar has confirmed CD and vinyl editions, including limited-edition liquid-filled and splatter vinyl releases. Additional exclusive vinyl colourways featuring different artwork will also be available through selected retailers.

With the game, Goodtime State – Vice City Collection and official soundtrack sold as separate products, fans looking to collect the full range of GTA 6 launch merchandise will have to purchase each individually.
