GTA 6 Map Details Confirm Absence of Theme Parks Despite All Previous Leak Speculation
Rockstar's latest comments challenge years of fan theories without completely closing the door on Leonida's tourist attractions

Rockstar Games has suggested the GTA 6 map may not include direct equivalents of central Florida's best-known theme parks.
The clarification came on 29 September, when senior vice president of environment art Paul MacPherson explained how Rockstar selected locations for the fictional state of Leonida.
Fans have long asked whether Grand Theft Auto VI could feature Rockstar's answer to Walt Disney World or another major Florida resort. Leak discussions, unofficial map reconstructions and Reddit theories all helped keep the idea alive.
However, MacPherson did not say GTA 6 would contain no amusement parks or tourist attractions. His comments instead concerned whether famous real-world locations would receive direct fictional counterparts.
Rockstar Explains How It Chose Locations for the GTA 6 Map
Game Informer asked Rockstar about central Florida and the theme parks closely associated with the area.
MacPherson said the development team had to balance a wide range of environments while deciding what should appear in Leonida. Those choices also needed to serve the game's design and narrative.
'We have to constantly evaluate the diversity of landscapes, towns, structures, landmarks, vistas, plant species, rock formations and everything else before we work with design and narrative to distil a list down that best works with and serves the game's needs,' MacPherson said.
He then offered the clearest indication that some recognisable Florida locations may not have direct counterparts.
'So, while we may not have those exact locations, everything we have is geared to getting that full Florida experience!' he said. That wording matters.
Rockstar appears to be signalling that players should not expect every famous Florida destination to be recreated inside Leonida. It does not establish that every possible theme park, fairground or attraction-style location has been excluded.
Claims that GTA 6 definitely contains no theme parks therefore go further than MacPherson's comments support.
The approach also reflects the broader challenge facing Rockstar. Leonida takes inspiration from Florida, but the studio isn't trying to reproduce the state location by location.
Instead, MacPherson's explanation suggests developers selected landscapes, settlements, and landmarks based on what worked for the game itself.
GTA 6 Theme Park Theories Grew From Leaks and Fan Speculation
Interest in a Disney-style destination began well before MacPherson addressed Rockstar's map-building process.
Fan discussions following the major 2022 GTA VI development leak highlighted references that some players interpreted as possible clues about a location connected with 'Fairyland.' Community discussion also referenced the label 'Fairyland Forest Puzzle.'
None of those references amounted to an official announcement that Rockstar was developing a Walt Disney World parody.
Still, the theory persisted as fans tried to reconstruct Leonida's geography from unofficial information and later promotional material.
The possibility also appeared repeatedly in Reddit discussions. Players debated whether Florida's theme-park culture was too prominent for Rockstar to leave out of its fictional version of the state.
Jay Klaitz, who portrayed Lester Crest in Grand Theft Auto V, added to the conversation during an April interview with Eldorado.

Klaitz was speaking hypothetically and was not revealing Rockstar's plans. He said it would be 'interesting' if the studio explored the idea and jokingly suggested one possible name.
'Psycho Park or whatever,' he said. His remarks reflected fan curiosity rather than evidence about the finished GTA 6 map. MacPherson's comments now provide more authoritative guidance.
Rockstar appears to have prioritised locations that support the game rather than creating fictional versions of every major Florida landmark. That still leaves some questions unanswered. His remarks do not establish that Leonida contains no theme parks or tourist attractions of any kind.
What they do cast doubt on is the expectation of a direct fictional recreation of central Florida's best-known theme-park destinations.
Players will not have long to examine Leonida themselves. Rockstar currently lists Grand Theft Auto VI for release on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
