Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge
It's surprisingly simple to enable raw DNG image and lower ISO on Galaxy S6/S6 Edge with Android 5.1.1 update Samsung

Along with other notable benefits, the Android Lollipop version 5.1.1 for Galaxy S6 and its curved screen variant, S6 Edge, bundles new functionality for the camera app giving the support for the RAW image format and lower ISO values.

However, Samsung has enabled neither of these options. To enable, all you need is third-party camera app to access the Camera2 API.

Here is what you do to enable camera settings on your Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, provided you have Android 5.1.1 on board.

  • Download and install the Manual Camera Compatibility test app from the Play Store. The app will confirm the new update delivers Android Lollipop Camera2 API for Galaxy S6/S6 Edge
  • Install Manual Camera app available in the Play Store and get started with the photography goods the Android 5.1.1 is bundled with
  • If you don't like the Manual Camera app interface, try out others such as Snap Camera HDR or Camera FV-5. Do not forget to enable Camera2 API option
  • You install Photo Mate R2 app to preview the raw DNG image format
