Singer Kelly Clarkson has revealed that she is pregnant with her first child.

Kelly Clarkson has confirmed that she is expecting her first child with husband Brandon Blackstock, ending weeks of specualtion.

The 31-year-old shared the news with fans on Twitter just weeks after the couple tied the knot.

"I'm pregnant! Brandon and I are so excited. Best early Christmas present ever," Clarkson told her nine million followers.

Clarkson sent the rumour mill into overdrive when she claimed that the pair were "trying like rabbits" for a child during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

When asked if she was in the family way, she responded: "We are not announcing anything right now."

Clarkson recently spoke about her desire to have a large family. "I never wanted kids before, but now I want, like, five," she admitted.

Blackstock is the son of Clarkson's manager, Narvel Blackstock, and the stepson of Reba McEntire.

The talent manager has two children, Savannah, 11, and Seth, seven, from a previous relationship.
