Where to watch

Kick-off is set for 3pm BST. Highlights of the game will be available on BBC Match of the Day from 10:30pm GMT on BBC One. Live radio coverage is available on BBC Radio Leicester

Overview

Leicester City manager Nigel Pierson is under immense pressure from his employers to perform. The newly-promoted club are currently bottom of the table, four points behind Queens Park Rangers, who are 17th.

They have failed to secure a single win in their last 10 outings after a brilliant start to the season when they beat Manchester United and took points from Arsenal. However, their season has gone downhill since then and need to bounce back.

They have received a massive blow in the form of Kasper Schmeichel, who is out with a broken metatarsal and will not be available till the New Year.

Pellegrini's side will be in high spirits, having got the better of AS Roma in the Champions League and secured their entry into the knockout stages. The Citizens had left themselves with a lot to do after a tame performance in the first four games in the group, but they came back strongly against Bayern Munich and Roma to avert a major upset.

They are currently three points behind Chelsea who lost to Newcastle last week and the table looks much more complete, with City in with a viable chance to catch up on Mourinho's men.

However, the absence of Sergio Aguero with a knee injury will be felt. He is expected to be out of action for at least a month.

What managers say

Nigel Pearson: "What we have to consider is that our owners are very successful people, and very supportive. But they will ultimately do what's best for their football club. I don't think you can ever make any assumptions that you earn the right to do this or that. Whether managers like it or not that's always how it is. It's a question that until our results improve I will continue to be asked and I will have to deal with it."

Manuel Pellegrini: "It will be a very important evening. Reaching the round of 16 is very important for the club. In this competition we have made many mistakes, especially in Moscow, and tomorrow we want to show what we can do because we want to play in the round of 16. We have good players and if we can beat Bayern, we can beat anybody."
