Overview
Luis Suarez continued his goal scoring form against Norwich City as Liverpool registered a 5-1 win over Chris Hughton's side during the midweek league fixture. The Uruguayan international scored a first-half hat-trick before scoring his fourth goal and assisting one for Raheem Sterling in the second half.
The win over Norwich has seen Brendan Rodgers's side bounce back from their 3-1 defeat to Hull City at the KC Stadium. The former Swansea manager would be looking to continue the Reds's brilliant form at home when they take on the London side on Saturday.
Meanwhile, West Ham come into this fixture after their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the last league match. The former Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh's first-half goal was the difference between the two sides as Palace sealed a narrow win over the Hammers at Selhurst Park.
The defeat to Palace has seen West Ham continue their poor form in the league. Allardyce's side sit in 17th spot with 13 points from 14 games and are three points ahead 18th place Fulham. Liverpool on the other hand are fourth in the table with 27 points.
What Managers Say
Brendan Rodgers: "My thinking was that, when you play with a target man, he [Suarez] becomes the focal point of your team, so everything has to be set up around the big guy. Sometimes you get sucked into doing it more direct, and clearly, with my history as a coach, I don't work that way."
Sam Allardyce: "However hard we plan and however much we do, a man of his talent - if he's [Suarez] in that mood - is sometimes an unstoppable player. However well we might master him, like we did last season, there still might be a bit of genius and brilliance that we just can't stop."
