Miss World 2011 finalists, in London for promotional activity ahead of final, lit up and brought quite a bit of glamor to the city. The 2011 Miss World paegant will be held in London, with the finals scheduled to take place on Nov. 6.

London, in fact, was where it all began. The city played host to the inaugural edition of the paegant, back in 1951. The winner then was Sweden's Kiki Haakanson, who beat contestants from 25 countries to become the first ever Miss World. This year a record 120 countries are contesting and the participants will stay at the Marriott London County Hall, on the banks of the Thames and opposite the Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

As promotional activites begin to gather speed, the contestants were at Crieff Hydro in Perthshire, on Wednesday, to try their hands at traditional Scottish games. They will spend five days in Scotland and visit Stirling, Gleneagles and Edinburgh.
