Coral Jones, the mother of the missing five-year-old girl April Jones, broke down during her first public appeal for help to find her daughter. Speaking at a news conference in Aberystwyth, alongside Dai Smith, April's grandfather, and Detective Superintendent Reg Bevan., Coral Jones said the family were desperate for any news, as April has been missing since Monday and she is only 5 years old.

April was last seen getting into a large vehicle near her home in Machynlleth at around 7:30pm on Monday, after playing on a bike with friends near her home. It is reported that she entered the vehicle on the driver's side. Dyfed Powys Police have released an image of the man they have arrested on suspicion of child abuse, along with a picture of his Land Rover. Mark Bridger, 46, who is a friend of the family was arrested just outside the village of Machynlleth, where April went missing. He is currently been held at Aberystwyth Police Station.

Police are hopeful April is still alive and are continuing the search for her. Although they have requested that well-meaning members of the public, who have joined the search for missing April now leave the searching to the police and trained professionals. Police have asked that anyone with information to contact a dedicated hotline on 0300 2000 333.
