Thames Valley Police have a launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in Milton Keynes. Officers were called to Osprey Close, in the Eaglestone area, at around 5.12am on Tuesday 13 September after reports that a man had been shot.

On arrival by the emergency services the man was taken to Milton Keynes University Hospital by ambulance but declared dead shortly after 7am. It is believed that the offending suspect, or suspects, had fled the scene.

The dead man is yet to be formally identified and officers have not made any arrests. Police are still at the scene.

A report by local news website, OneMK, quoted an anonymous resident who said that she heard shouting outside the house at midnight. They say that two brothers, believed to be in their late 20s, live at the address where the dead man is thought to have lived.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Mike Lynch, of the Major Crime Unit in Thames Valley Police, said: "We are in the process of investigating the incident and a murder investigation has been launched.

"Members of the public might see an increased number of officers in the area while investigations into this incident take place. I would like to reassure the public that a full and thorough investigation is launched while we locate the person or persons responsible.

"I would like to appeal for anyone who thinks they might have any information about this incident to get in touch by calling the non-emergency number 101.
