News OxygenOS update adds a host of fixes for OnePlus X OnePlus

OnePlus is rolling out an update to the Oxygen OS for OnePlus X with version 2.1.2. This is the first software update after the phone went on sale recently in Europe, India and Hong Kong. Labelled as an incremental update, the release is available as an OTA and addresses some bugs, apart from enhancing the phone's performance.

  • Bug fixes to System Update to improve OTA stability
  • System optimisations in low battery state
  • General bug fixes and performance improvements

Meanwhile, users have been reporting about the issues with SD storage. Although OnePlus has already acknowledged the issue but this update does not contain the fix. But it says that another update will resolve those issues.

Note that the firmware update is not available for all users at the moment, as it is a phased roll-out. But download files for the OTA are available in case you want to perform a manual installation.

How to install OxygenOS 2.1.2 on OnePlus X

Step 1: Download OxygenOS 2.1.2 (alternate link) on your phone and save it in phone's storage

Step 2: Do the following steps to place the phone in to recovery mode;

Press Volume Down and Power buttons together until the device boots. When you see the OnePlus logo on the screen, release the Power while keep holding Volume Down until the phone boos in recovery

Step 3: Select Install then browse to the location where you have saved the OTA package, select it with Power button and confirm the installation

Step 4: When it is complete, select Reboot system now to restart the phone into normal mode
