A woman was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with severe burns after reportedly setting herself on fire at Clydebank police station.

Police said she was set ablaze in the public area of the station, in Montrose Street, Clydebank, in broad daylight at about 9:55am on Wednesday (7 January).

The public entrance to the station has been closed off while inquiries continue.

Police Scotland said: "At around 9.55am this morning police were called to a report of a woman having been injured in the public area of Clydebank police office on Montrose Street.

"The woman was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

"Inquiries are continuing."
