Woman Allegedly Let Doctor Sexually Assault Child at Least 10 Times in Exchange for Adderall
Sanchez, 37, was booked into the Smith County Jail on Wednesday on a $3 million bond

A Texas woman is accused of taking a child under 14 to the office of Kenneth Donald Haygood, 56, on numerous occasions and remaining in the room during at least 10 alleged sexual assaults in exchange for Adderall and other prescription medication, investigators say. Alicia Evonne Sanchez, 37, also known as Alicia Evonne Seguin, was arrested in Smith County on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, charged with continuous sexual assault of a child under 14 and booked into the Smith County Jail on a $3 million (about £2.3 million) bond.
The child reportedly cried and pleaded with Haygood to stop but was ignored or told, 'this is what doctors do', according to investigators. Haygood pleaded guilty in 2025 to two sexual assault charges in a separate case, and the reports do not indicate that he has been charged in connection with these allegations.
Child's Outcry Led to Investigation
The allegations came to light after the child made an outcry to another adult and a counsellor. According to the child's account, Haygood gave Sanchez Adderall and other pills after the alleged assaults.
Sanchez allegedly placed the pills in a clear bag and told the child they were for people who could not get them from their doctor, or that there was a shortage. The child's gender and relationship to Sanchez have not been publicly disclosed.
Adderall is a prescription stimulant containing amphetamine salts, commonly prescribed to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy. Continuous sexual assault of a child under 14 is a first-degree felony in Texas, and a conviction can carry a prison sentence of 25 to 99 years or life.

Haygood Pleaded Guilty Days Before Trial
Haygood pleaded guilty on 19 September 2025 to two sexual assault charges in a separate criminal case before Judge Austin Reeve Jackson in Smith County's 114th District Court. He was due to go to trial the following Monday.
He received concurrent eight-year sentences, with credit for 585 days already served, and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life. The two convictions involved sexual assaults dating to December 2017 and December 2018.
Haygood had faced nine felony counts, including multiple sexual assault charges, an aggravated sexual assault of a child charge and practising medicine without a licence. Seven were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. The two convictions were for second-degree sexual assault, an offence carrying a prison sentence of two to 20 years in Texas, and it is not known whether the child in Sanchez's case was involved in his earlier prosecution.
Medical Board Restricted His Practice
Haygood's medical licence had already been restricted by the Texas Medical Board, the state agency that regulates physicians. On 9 June 2023, the board issued a final order prohibiting him from seeing, examining, treating or prescribing for female patients, including consultations and practising through telemedicine.
The board found that he had failed to meet the standard of care and had performed a physical examination without obtaining consent. It also found that he discussed the encounter with the patient's mother and husband by text message, disclosing confidential medical information and protected health information, and said the messages were intended to intimidate them as witnesses. The order resolved a formal complaint filed with the State Office of Administrative Hearings.
On 24 October 2023, a Texas Medical Board disciplinary panel temporarily suspended Haygood's licence without notice, after determining that he had violated the June order. The board said his continued practice posed a continuing threat to public welfare, and the practising-without-a-licence count was among those dismissed in the 2025 plea agreement.
Sanchez remains in the Smith County Jail on the $3 million bond. The reports reviewed do not include a response from Sanchez or Haygood.
