Donald Trump Reportedly 'Twitching in Anger' While Calling Undocumented Migrants 'The Worst People'
The president praised immigration officers and repeated unverified claims about migrants, but did not address whether enforcement had increased meat-processing costs

Donald Trump called some undocumented migrants 'the worst people on earth' in a White House exchange that went viral on X after viewers claimed he was 'twitching in anger' while defending US immigration agents.
The 80-year-old president was asked on Tuesday, 29 September, whether his administration's immigration crackdown was driving up beef prices in Kansas.
He did not address the question directly and instead launched into a defence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and an attack on migrants and Democrats, prompting mixed reactions online to both his words and demeanour.
Donald Trump Defends ICE
The reporter tried to get Trump's attention as journalists put questions to him during a gathering of technology executives. She asked about beef processing costs and whether immigration enforcement was contributing to higher prices.
'The price for beef processing, Mr. President, and they're bringing up prices, Mr. President. Any comment on your ICE enforcement bringing up prices?' she asked. He answered by praising Immigration and Customs Enforcement, saying, 'ICE has done a phenomenal job in keeping our people safe.'
Trump said officers had done 'a fantastic job' removing people he described as 'murderers, rapists, drug dealers'. He extended that description to 'the worst people on earth' and 'the worst people all over the world'.
He blamed Joe Biden's border policies, accusing his predecessor of allowing 'open borders' through which 25 million people had entered the country 'unvetted, untested, unchecked'.
Trump claimed his administration had removed most of those he considered dangerous and said others would follow. 'But these are murderers and the worst people in the world, and we've done one hell of a job,' he said.
Turning to Democrats, he accused them of allowing criminals into the country. 'Why did you allow them into our country? You disturbed our country. You hurt our country,' he said. His response did not explain whether immigration enforcement had affected beef prices.
Viewers Dispute the President's Demeanour
The exchange aired live, and a clip circulated on X. One viewer wrote, 'Trump starts twitching in anger when a reporter tries to ask him about ICE.' Another rejected that description, writing, 'I don't see twitching anger. I see the usual BS blaming of everyone else but himself.'
Both posts criticised Trump, but they offered different interpretations of his movements. The 'twitching in anger' description was the first viewer's characterisation of the footage. Another viewer focused on his gestures, writing, 'His mouth is his biggest muscle, and he uses his whole body to emphasize his words.'
Mark Zuckerberg, who appeared in the background, also drew comments. 'Zuckerberg looks like he wants to dig a hole and hide in it,' one viewer wrote.
Kansas Fears and Costs
US Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin has said ICE is not conducting worksite operations in Kansas.
Reports of temporary business closures in the state's southwest described owners shutting their premises out of fear of ICE agents. About 150 people gathered in downtown Great Bend to share concerns about what they believed was immigration enforcement activity.
Trump had been hosting leaders from OpenAI, Anthropic, Nvidia, SpaceX, Meta and Google when the reporter raised the issue. He called the meeting 'an extraordinary gathering' and described those attending as 'building America's Golden Age'.
The president referred to artificial intelligence as 'Special Intelligence'. The meeting took place as some technology executives and experts called for tighter AI oversight, citing concerns about its potential risks to humanity.
