Trump Supporters' Remarks About Christians and Muslims at Oklahoma Rally Draw Attention
The women made the remarks during an interview in Durant, Oklahoma, while discussing petrol prices, abortion and the 2026 midterm elections

Two unidentified women at a Donald Trump rally in Durant, Oklahoma, made controversial remarks during an interview with Real America's Voice, as one claimed Christians were 'being killed everywhere', while another said Muslims should 'go back to where they came from'.
Raw Story reported the exchange, filmed during a political rally on 1 October 2026, and the footage drew criticism after circulating online, although the women's identities and the exact filming time have not been independently established.
The conversation covered petrol prices, abortion, the November 2026 US midterm elections and Islam. Individual attendees made the comments, which should not be interpreted as representing every Trump supporter at the event.
The first woman was asked about petrol prices. Rather than offering a specific explanation for prices, she expressed confidence in the president's ability to address the issue.
'Ride it out, because he's going to fix it,' she said. 'Believe in him, stand strong, and we will be okay.' The interview then turned to the woman standing beside her, who discussed the importance of Republicans winning the November elections.
What the Women Said About Christians and Muslims
The second woman described abortion as evil and argued that Christians needed stronger political representation. 'All the abortion, it's evil,' she said.
She subsequently claimed that Christians were being targeted and said Trump represented their interests. 'We're being killed everywhere,' she said. 'We don't have anybody to stand up for Christians anymore.'
The available footage does not establish where the alleged killings occurred or identify anyone responsible. Her statement should therefore be understood as her personal claim rather than independently verified evidence of widespread violence against Christians.
She also said she wanted to see 'two people', referring to Trump and Jesus. The woman then linked the election outcome to the country's future.
'If we don't keep our party, we won't have a country anymore,' she said. 'We do not want Muslims taking over ... we don't believe in mutilation here.' She did not clarify what she meant by 'mutilation' in the available footage.
The interviewer subsequently asked the first woman about her views on Muslims. 'I have horrible thoughts,' she said. 'I don't think they should be here. This isn't their country ... they need to pack up their stuff and go back to where they came from.'
The remarks expressed the two women's individual positions. The footage does not establish whether other attendees shared those views.
Academic Reacts to the Interview as Questions Remain
The exchange also attracted criticism from John O'Brennan, a professor at Maynooth University in Ireland. O'Brennan, whose academic work focuses on European politics and European Union enlargement, commented on the footage on X.
'Christ, the sheer madness of the Trump cult is breathtaking,' he wrote. His response criticised the political attitudes expressed in the interview. It was not an assessment of every person attending the Oklahoma rally.
The footage referenced by Raw Story did not identify the women. Their names and the exact date of the interview have not been independently confirmed. The distinction matters because the statements cannot automatically be attributed to the Trump campaign, the Republican Party or the wider rally audience.
Trump's 1 October appearance in Durant formed part of his political activities ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. The rally took place at the Choctaw Event Center in southeastern Oklahoma.
The event drew thousands of attendees, Oklahoma Voice reported on 2 October, as its coverage also identified the gathering as part of Trump's campaign efforts ahead of the November elections.
