Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain must be getting sick of the sight of each other. This is the third season in a row they have met in the knock out stages of the Champions League. In 2013-14 season the Premier League side came out on top, progressing thanks to a late Demba Ba goal at Stamford Bridge.

A year later however in the quarter-final stage, David Luiz came back to haunt his former club, getting on the scoresheet as the Parisians sealed a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge; enough to send them through on away goals.

Manchester City meanwhile have been handed a decent draw in the form of Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kiev. There are four real glamour ties there, but one dud of sorts, in Gent vs Wolfsburg.

It was always going to happen, wasn't it? Arsenal have been drawn against Barcelona once again in the Champions League round of 16, the single worst possible scenario for Arsene Wenger's side.

It doesn't get much better for Chelsea, they have been paired with Paris Saint-Germain, the team who eliminated them from the quarter-final stages of the competition last season.

Champions League round of 16:

K.A.A Gent vs Wolfsburg

Roma vs Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain vs Chelsea

Arsenal vs Barcelona

Juventus vs Bayern Munich

PSV Eindhoven vs Atletico Madrid

Benfica cs Zenit St Petersburg

Dynamo Kiev vs Manchester City

DYNAMO KIEV vs MANCHESTER CITY

BENFICA vs ZENIT ST PETERSBURG

PSV EINDHOVEN vs ATLETICO MADRID

JUVENTUS vs BAYERN MUNICH

ARSENAL vs BARCELONA

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN vs CHELSEA

ROMA vs REAL MADRID

GENT vs WOLFSBURG

And we are ready to go! No messing around this year. Group runners up to be drawn first.

Now we are just going through the usual list of rules. No clubs from the same association can be drawn against each other, clubs cannot be drawn with a club from their same group, Zenit St Petersburg and Dynamo Kiev will also be kept away from each other.

Who have Uefa wheeled out for the draw, this time? Javier Zanetti, a winner in 2010 with Inter is out to provide a helping hand.

And the ceremony in Nyon is underway. Master of ceremonies and UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino has taken the stage to lead proceedings.

It is very much the same story for Chelsea; avoid PS at all costs. Laurent Blanc's side ended their campaign at the quarter-final stage last season through goals from David Luiz and Thiago Silva at Stamford Bridge. Benfica, Juventus and Roma could also pose threats to Jose Mourinho's side.

As group winners, Manchester City avoid the worst of it at this stage, but as Joe Hart predicted following his side's final group game, Paris Saint-Germain would represent a very difficult draw. Apart from the Parisians, City should realistically fancy their chances against the other sides awaiting them. A tie with Belgian side K.A.A Gent would be very much welcomed at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal's second place finish in their group means they will be fed into a tie against one of the group winners. Their best scenario here? Wolfsburg or Zenit St Petersburg, you would say. They are by no means easy opposition, but they are surely better than the alternative. The Gunners have a 50 percent chance of being drawn against Spanish opposition. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid would all be considered favourites to consign Arsene Wenger's side to another early exit.

Before the Champions League takes a break until February, we still have the small matter of the last 16 stage draw to tie up. The 16 teams to have successfully navigated their way through the group stages will learn their fate this morning at 11pm [GMT] when the draw takes place in Nyon.

We will be bringing you it as it happens, along with all the possible scenarios that could unfold for the remaining Premier League contingent in Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea.

The usual rules are in place. The eight group winners have all been seeded and will therefore avoid each other in the first knock-out round. Teams from the same country, or who competed in the same group cannot be drawn together, meaning Arsenal will avoid Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
