Alleged ICE Arrest Outside LAX without badge or uniform
Unverified video of an alleged ICE arrest outside LAX has prompted online questions about the men’s identification and the woman’s reported detention @KimKatieUSA/X

Social media users have questioned an unverified video that Eric Daugherty claimed captured an ICE arrest outside Los Angeles International Airport before dawn, focusing on the men's lack of clearly visible badges or uniforms.

Daugherty reposted footage originally uploaded by Kim Katie. The clip appears to depict several plainclothes men surrounding a woman and placing her in an unmarked white van, but the alleged arrest and those involved have not been independently verified.

ICE Identification Comes Under Scrutiny

One user wrote, 'This looks terrifying. Why no badges or uniforms?' The reported footage depicts no clearly visible agency insignia on the men, prompting questions about who they were and why they were detaining the woman.

Another commenter wrote, 'If they're real ICE, they should clearly identify themselves.' That response framed the agency's involvement as conditional, reflecting uncertainty among viewers about whether the men belonged to the immigration enforcement agency.

Other users raised concerns about the reported use of an unmarked van and masks. Their reactions addressed the way the detention appeared to be carried out, while questions about the woman focused on her identity and welfare.

'Anyone know who Jing Zhao is or if she's okay?' another user queried. Some expressed hope that more information about the woman and her case would emerge. The comments themselves did not independently establish what had happened.

ICE Claims Lack Official Documentation

Daugherty, Chief Content Officer at Right Line News and FL Voice News, claimed the men were Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. He also asserted that the woman was a Chinese national being detained over an immigration violation.

'ICE agents just arrested a Chinese national outside LAX airport PRE DAWN in California,' he wrote, adding that the woman was 'going back.' His post placed the alleged incident before dawn but offered no official confirmation of the arrest.

Daugherty also claimed airports were becoming increasingly difficult for undocumented immigrants and people with immigration violations to travel through. That was a broader assertion accompanying his description of the footage, rather than an independently established finding about airport travel.

The reported location outside LAX does not establish whether the woman was a passenger. No specific flight, destination or itinerary was identified in the account, which also did not explain why she was at the airport before the alleged detention.

What the Unverified Video Reportedly Captures

A bystander can reportedly be heard questioning the men about whether they are ICE agents. One man reportedly identifies himself as an agent and cites an 'immigration violation' when questioned about why the woman is being detained.

From inside the vehicle, the woman is reportedly heard shouting the name 'Jing Zhao'. Some social media users have identified her by that name, although the publication could not independently verify her identity.

The report also describes a US government DHS number plate visible on the van. Despite that reported detail and the exchange with the bystander, it could not independently establish that the men were ICE agents or confirm the circumstances of the detention.

Daugherty's post contained no official documentation or statement from ICE confirming the alleged arrest.
