black-ish Season 3
The Johnson family travels to Disney World in the premiere episode. ABC

Black-ish season 3 returns on Wednesday (21 September) on ABC with a vacation special episode as Andre "Dre" Johnson Sr is all set to take his family on a tour to Walt Disney World. But it appears that the plan of a perfect trip will be ruined.

Show creator Kenya Barris told TVLine, "We'd ridden, like, 10 rides, and then there was a moment where the VIP guide said, 'We have to wait in this line'." He was talking about one of his family trips to the theme park, which turned out to be a disaster. Since Barris is well known for incorporating real life events on the popular sitcom, it can be assumed that Dre could have a tough time managing his pregnant wife Rainbow and his four children in the Disney World.

"The children would have been fine just being together and being on the rides and being out there. But it was me wanting to give them what I didn't have growing up, which I thought was super important. What was really the best part of Disneyland is just being together. Some of that time being in a line [for an attraction] can be really fun," he added.

Mentioned below is the synopsis of the premiere episode titled VIP:

"Dre decides to take his family to Walt Disney World on the magical, first-class vacation experience he was never able to have as a kid. With the help of a VIP tour guide, Dre, and the kids take full advantage of their VIP status. Meanwhile, Bow, Pops, and Ruby set off on their own adventure at Walt Disney World."
