Manchester City travel to West Ham United for an early kick-off on Saturday as they look to brush their Champions league disappointments aside and strengthen their position in the Premier League.

Where to Watch Live

The kick-off is set for 12:45pm BST. Live coverage will be available on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport 1 HD. Highlights of the game will be available on BBC Match of the Day at 10:30pm BST.

Overview

West Ham are in brilliant shape coming into the game, currently fourth in the table and brimming with confidence under the rejuvenated Sam Allardyce.

The Hammers have won three of their last four games, with their only loss coming against Manchester United in what was a very close affair. Their summer signings Ennar Valencia and Diafra Sakho have lit up the Premier League and with City reeling from their recent setback against Moscow, Allardyce has chosen this opportunity as his best bet to beat the reigning Champions.

Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini knows that failure to keep up with Chelsea now would have a damaging effect on their chances to win the league title.

With Champions League qualification on the verge of demise -- having collected only 2 points from their last three games in the group -- the Chilean has to view the game against West Ham as a must win affair.

Their league form of late has been good, cruising to a 4-1 victory over Tottenham in their last game after a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa before the international break.

However, with the Manchester derby coming up next week, Pellegrini has little scope for error, with their ambitious owners keeping a close watch on his performance.

What Managers Say

Sam Allardyce:"We've got a different team to last season. Obviously the players that are still here will remember that we didn't get anything from them. There wasn't much we could do in the [League Cup] semi-finals due to injuries at that time. They're a fabulous side, but if we're going to get anything from them it's now, while we're in form. As well as them coming back from a Champions League away game. We're in good, confident form but for me it's about getting the players to their top level. We'll have to play like we did [in the 3-1 win] against Liverpool, probably even better."

Manuel Pellegrini: :"It's not the first time this has happened and it's something we need to sort out as soon as possible. We are one team when we play with intensity, with the ball. When we start to give some balls away so cheaply, we are not the same team. It's then that we don't know how to control the game. Sometimes you can win games even when you are not playing at your best and I think we find that hard."
