'You Guys Are Such F*cking Losers': Zara Larsson Slams White House for Using 'Midnight Sun' in ICE Video

Zara Larsson has sharply criticised the White House after her song 'Midnight Sun' was used in a TikTok video showing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents detaining people, prompting the Swedish pop star to call the clip 'so dehumanising' and those behind it 'f*cking losers.'

The White House video, posted on its official TikTok account, featured footage of immigration enforcement activity and carried the caption 'Never ending deportations', a play on the lyric 'never ending midnight sun'.

The song was later removed from the post, although the video remained available on the White House's TikTok.

Zara Larsson Responds to White House Video

Larsson addressed the video in a roughly three-minute TikTok response after followers tagged her in posts about it.

'Like, I don't even know what to say,' Larsson began. 'I saw some comments. I got tagged in this, obviously, and some people were like, "She's going to be pissed." You know what? I'm just sad.'

She said she wished she could speak to whoever made the video and remind them that the people shown were not fundamentally different from those watching it.

Larsson also reflected on being born in Sweden and having access to healthcare, education and other opportunities, describing those circumstances as 'luck'.

The 'Midnight Sun' singer said many undocumented immigrants were seeking better lives for themselves, their families and their children.

'I just don't understand how it could be the worst thing in the world to be an undocumented immigrant,' she said, while acknowledging that people could debate immigration policy separately from the content of the video.

Larsson called the footage 'so dehumanising' and pointed to a man wearing construction clothing.

'These people in this video, they're real people,' she said. 'There's a f*cking guy in there with construction wear. He's working.'

She added that, in her view, 'a vast majority' of undocumented people are 'regular people with jobs' who are 'just trying to have a better future.'

Why 'Midnight Sun' ICE Video Upset Larsson

Larsson also objected to the way her song was paired with the footage. She said 'Midnight Sun' was about feeling connected to nature, the universe and other people, while the White House video created what she described as 'this massive divide between people'.

The White House clip showed ICE agents detaining and handcuffing people while Larsson's track played in the background. The post's 'Never ending deportations' caption echoed the song's lyrics, adding to the contrast Larsson highlighted in her response.

'It's so crazy how everything is so meme-ified and ha-ha-ha video,' she said, adding that the song was about connection rather than division.

Her response ended with a blunt message to those responsible for the video: 'Oh my gosh, you guys are such f*cking losers.'

Larsson and the White House's Previous Dispute

The latest dispute follows an earlier dispute between Larsson and the Trump administration over her music and immigration enforcement.

In January 2026, Larsson criticised ICE in a series of Instagram posts before the White House shared a TikTok featuring Donald Trump dancing to 'Lush Life', with messages including 'WE LOVE ICE and our law enforcement!'

Larsson responded by expressing support for immigrants and other groups while saying she opposed ICE.

Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and SZA have also objected to their music being used in White House or administration social media posts.
