On the same day that Robin van Persie officially left Arsenal for Manchester United, it seems another Gunner could soon be on his way out of the club in midfielder Alex Song.

Earlier today Wenger admitted that Song could well be sold in the current transfer window as he is looking to bring another midfielder to the club in Real Madrid's Nuri Sahin.

Reports in Spain suggest that Song has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona and it is now up to the two clubs to try an negotiate a fee, which Marca believes will be between €15-20million.

Barcelona have been looking to find the perfect replacement for Seydou Keita and it seems as though they are convinced that Song is the man.

The Catalan giants sent Josep María Bartomeu and Raúl Sanllehi to London to try and negotiate a deal on Tuesday and it seems they are increasingly confident that a deal will be completed before the window transfer window closes.

Bartomeu, the clubs vice-president, and Sanlhei, the director of football, have been given the task of persuading Arsenal to sell Song, and it appears they may well be successful after the comments of Wenger.

It would be another major blow for Arsenal fans who last season saw Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas leave the club, while the transfer of Van Persie to Manchester United will be a bitter pill to swallow.

Song was one of the standout performers for Arsenal last season as he reached double figures with assists, despite being regarded as a defensive midfielder.

He has been at the club since 2005 but has failed to win a single trophy during his time at Arsenal, one of the main reasons behind a number of players leaving in recent seasons.

The midfielder will have also seen the comments coming out of Barcelona, with defender Gerard Pique urging Song to make the move to the Camp Nou.

'He is physically very strong and is good with the ball at his feet. We are open to his arrival. If he comes, and from what I have read he could do, we would love to have him."
