Rising American singer and rapper D4vd, who gained immense popularity after his song 'Here With Me' went viral on TikTok, was pulled from Lollapalooza Brasil 2026. The music festival was held from 20 to 22 March at the Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo. The singer was among the original 72 acts across three days in what organizers call the strongest lineup the festival has assembled. Here's why the D4vd didn't perform at the event.

His cancellation to perform at the music festival is likely because of his close association with the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who was found inside the boot of a Tesla six months ago. However, his management, the festival's organiser, and D4vd himself did not disclose the reason for backing out.

While fans in São Paulo were initially confused by his disappearance from the promotional materials, the gravity of the legal situation in the United States has made his international travel and public performances impossible. Aside from this, his tour was also immediately cancelled when the news broke that a body was discovered in his Tesla.

To add salt to the wound, collaborators including Kali Uchis and Laufey have scrubbed their joint tracks from streaming platforms.

One netizen on X commented, 'It is chilling to listen to "Romantic Homicide" now that these details are out. The industry was right to pull him from Lollapalooza.'

Another fan added, 'We just want justice for Celeste. The music doesn't matter until we know what happened in that car.'

D4vd's Close Association in Celeste Rivas' Murder Case

D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was closely associated with the death of 15-year-old runaway Rivas after her severely decomposed remains were found inside the boot of a black Tesla on 8 September 2025 at a Los Angeles impound lot.

The vehicle had been impounded from a Hollywood Hills residential street after being abandoned for several weeks. Inside the trunk, investigators found Rivas' remains, which had been placed in two cadaver bags.

The discovery and the investigation were prompted by a foul smell emanating from the vehicle, which was reported by an impound lot employee. The Tesla was registered under the singer's name.

Aside from the fact that Rivas was found in D4vd's car, the teenager had been missing for more than a year when she was discovered. The singer and the teenager were reportedly in a relationship, according to internet sleuths who connected details such as matching tattoos, photographs together, and an old Twitch clip stream clip. Furthermore, fans appear to have been aware of the connection, as a user named Ponzalo previously urged D4vd to release a song about the 'missing girl.'

Celeste Rivas' Murder Case Update

Half a year after the discovery, no arrests have been made. However, D4vd has been named as a 'target' by a Los Angeles grand jury that has convened to hear evidence and testimonies regarding Rivas' death.

Aside from this, in February, reports indicated that D4vd's father, Dawud Burke, his mother, Colleen Burke, and his brother, Caleb Burke, were subpoenaed to testify before the grand jury. They filed a petition challenging the subpoena, but it was denied.

As of now, there are no reports that indicate D4vd's family has appeared and testified before the LA grand jury. Since the subpoena, speculations of D4vd's indictment have intensified due to a shocking footnote.
