She was a musical sensation who came to define the disco era, and yesterday afternoon close friends and family said goodbye to Donna Summer at a funeral held in Nashville, Tennessee. Hundreds of people close to the singer, along with well renowned members of the music business such as record producer David Foster, turned up at the Christ Presbyterian Church to say their farewells to the disco legend.

The 63 year old died of lung cancer on the 17<sup>th May at her home in Englewood, Florida. Fans across the world mourned the five-time grammy winner, with other famous musicians such as Bono and Macy Gray paying tribute to the 'queen of disco'.

With hits such as, 'Last Dance', 'Bad Girls' and 'I Feel Love', Donna Summer was one of the most successful acts during the 70s disco movement, but managed to adapt throughout the decades to incorporate R&B, rock and dance music. She will be greatly missed.
